Access via SSH
For convenience, many users request SSH access to DaDesktop machines, as this allows course participants and trainers to easily connect to their desktops from personal laptops or workstations. Naturally, typing commands in a local terminal is often preferred over using a terminal within a remote desktop.
Although technically possible, we do not permit SSH access in this scenario, as it would unnecessarily expose the DaDesktop course machines to significant security risks.
A drag-and-drop file transfer capability has been introduced, so you can easily add files from your own computer directly into the DaDesktop machine. Some requests for full SSH access were previously motivated by the lack of a file transfer method, but with this feature now available, using DaDesktop is even more straightforward.
It's also worth highlighting that full QEMU Spice Desktop support is now available on both Windows and Linux OS templates, making it much simpler than before to copy and paste commands from your local machine to DaDesktop, even when using a Mac or non-English character sets.
For DDOP - DaDesktop on Premise servers, SSH access is permitted if necessary.
