Enhancing Your Connection Performance
Sometimes DaDesktop will warn you if it detects that your connection has too much latency—meaning a delay that makes things sluggish.
If that happens, try the steps below to give your connection a boost.

Steps to take
- Whenever you can, plug in with an Ethernet cable. If you’re on Wi‑Fi, run a speed test first (like speedtest.net) to check your speeds.
- Stay close to your wireless access point if at all possible. Opt for 5 GHz Wi‑Fi over 2.4 GHz—the 2.4 GHz band is often slower and more prone to interference.
- Turn off or disconnect any VPNs or proxies before you join the course.
- If you can, disable security applications that might interfere with your network—these can sometimes add latency and slow things down.
-
Reach out to your company’s IT support for help, especially if your network uses content filtering or similar tools.
Adding these domains to a whitelist can make a difference:
1. https://\*.npg.io (any host under .npg.io)
2. https://dd4t.dadesktop.com - Avoid large downloads or uploads during the course—pause Windows, Mac, or Linux updates until afterwards if you can.
-
Your internet speed should beat “10 Mbps download & 1 Mbps upload”.
