What DaDesktop is NOT

DaDesktop is a type of software that hasn't been neatly classified yet. At times, describing what DaDesktop is not and how it contrasts with other tools can be a more straightforward way to convey its purpose.

Online Conference

Is DaDesktop Online Conference software like Zoom or Teams?

Normally you would need to use Zoom, Teams, Skype or Wechat in conjunction with DaDesktop.

DaDesktop might eventually incorporate its own conferencing tools, but that’s not a focus right now.

What similarities exist between, say, Zoom and DaDesktop?

Both offer basic chat capabilities.

Public Cloud

Is DaDesktop like AWS, Google Cloud, Azure or Aliyun?

Public Cloud, or Computing Cloud, is built for hosting applications. DaDesktop is meant for people to access remote desktops.

What similarities exist between AWS and DaDesktop?

From the user’s standpoint, there aren’t many parallels. Both enable a person to operate a remote machine and run software. AWS EC2 targets system administrators, whereas DaDesktop is tailored for training attendees, instructors, course coordinators, and management.

Some organizations continue to use AWS or other cloud platforms for remote course delivery, although a typical public cloud tends to be costlier, slower, and less user‑friendly than DaDesktop. DaDesktop is purpose‑built for course delivery, not general computing.

Learning Management System (LMS)

Is DaDesktop like Moodle, Rise UP, Open edX or other LMS?

LMS platforms typically aim to support education delivery, such as university courses, or are designed for online learning. Right now, DaDesktop is built for instructor‑driven corporate training. Its intended audience includes corporate employees, government workers, and similar groups. It is not specifically aimed at school or university students.

DaDesktop prioritizes an instructor‑led approach to course delivery, where the facilitator is actively engaged during the session.

What overlaps exist between LMS and DaDesktop?

DaDesktop includes a range of features that overlap with LMS capabilities and even exceed them.

With DaDesktop, a course administrator can enroll participants, monitor attendance, observe engagement, check connections, and even record screens throughout the session.

Much of this happens automatically. For instance, a trainer doesn’t have to take attendance manually—the data is already in the system. DaDesktop can log user location, connection duration, which exercises were completed and which were skipped, and so on.

Participants who miss the course can review recordings and practice within a setup that mirrors the live student environment exactly.
