GPU Reservations

Training Coordinators can secure guaranteed GPU resources for their courses through GPU reservations. This method grants these courses top priority for requested GPU compute hardware, ensuring that training sessions and labs have the necessary infrastructure to operate successfully.

 

To create a GPU reservation for a course, follow this process:

Navigate to the Desktops tab on the course page and click the blue button labeled "Reserve GPU," located just below the Video conference button.

 

A prompt will appear to collect the necessary details for your GPU request.

First, specify the location. By default, it is set to "Anywhere."

If you know which city is closest to the participants, you can enter it manually by selecting "Within distance from city." 

For broader location coverage, you can select "Others...".

Once you are satisfied with the location settings, click "Continue" to proceed to the "Per desktop" section, where you can define the machine requirements.

In this section, specify all resources required per machine to obtain an accurate estimate of the approximate cost.

** Please ensure accuracy here, as this helps provide a precise cost estimation and assists course managers in locating available resources if regional capacity is limited.

 

If you are happy with the entered details, click Continue to move to the GPU requirements section.

In this section, it is advisable to consult with the trainer to determine the exact needs of the course. Trainers typically have a clear idea of which GPU Vendor and Model they require. If you or the trainer are uncertain, select "ANY".

Currently, we offer two Vendors: AMD & Nvidia.

Regarding models, we list our current catalogue. If you are unsure of the trainer's specific needs, select "ANY".

 

Once you are satisfied with the reservation details, click "Place reservation." This will allocate the funds, activate the reservation, and display it as active on the course page, as shown below:

 

If you receive new information about the required GPUs or need to make changes to your reservation, please contact DD support for assistance in editing the GPU reservation request.
