Operating System Template Administration
OS Template Naming Convention
We exclusively utilize lowercase characters and dashes for template names.
Adhering to this naming pattern is essential for the application to accurately categorize and order the templates.
<os>
When specifying the <os> portion, avoid using dashes.
<key><number>
Examples of this pattern are:
centos8
debian12
win10
ubuntu2404
ubuntu2204
<template>
<os>-template-v<number>
Some examples include:
debian12-template-v21
ubuntu2204-template-v17
kali-template-v2
<dd4w>
dd4w-tpl-lxc-<os>-v<number>
dd4w-tpl-kvm-<os>-v<number>
Templates that belong to this group must begin with 'dd4w-'.
Example names:
dd4w-tpl-kvm-win10-v5
dd4w-tpl-lxc-ubuntu2204-v2
Distribution
In this section, you have the ability to duplicate, delete, or compare all OS templates present in your cloud environment. Keep in mind that moving a large number of templates may affect your server’s network performance and overall experience. It is advisable to carry out copy operations during off-peak hours.
Batch Deletion of OS Templates
Recently added is the capability to delete templates in bulk from multiple servers simultaneously. What used to be a tedious, time-consuming chore is now quick and straightforward.
- Simply pick a server that contains the desired template, then choose 'Remove from .. ' ('Remove' option alone deletes just a single template)
- A list displaying only those servers that host this specific template will appear.
- Check the boxes next to the servers from which you want to delete the template.
-
Click 'Submit' and confirm the action; the templates will then be removed.
