Resizing the Disk of a Fresh-Start Desktop Within Your Course

If an existing Fresh-Start machine is running low on disk space, you can quickly expand its capacity.
  1. First, halt the Fresh-Start machine.
  2. Next, use the Clone & Resize option to convert it into a Standalone desktop, as illustrated below (if you haven’t already created an organization, do that first). Clone - Resize to Standalone Desktop
  3. During this step, adjust the disk size as needed and submit the changes.
  4. Navigate to the 'Standalones' link at the top of the page to locate and confirm the machine is there.
  5. Back in the course, remove the original Fresh-Start machine using the 'Delete' button.
  6. Click the 'Create Fresh-Start from my Standalone' button.
    Create from Standalone

  7. Within this 'Create from Standalone' dialog, you can also opt to increase the disk size here if you skipped that earlier step.
Create Freshh Start from Standalone, choose disk size change
  8. If needed, add an alias name and then click the 'Create Desktop' button.
  9. With standard DaDesktop Linux and Windows OS templates, the operating system will extend automatically. Please note that AlmaLinux standard templates use a different default partition layout, which requires extra manual steps (outlined below).
  10. For custom OS templates, partition auto-extension may not happen automatically; follow the manual steps described below.
